  • On Wednesday, January 13 at 8:00 pm EST, Columbia University Sports, Entertainment & Media (CSEM) is hosting a speaker event featuring two Columbia alumni from TurnerSports, Tim and Liv Kiely; they are a father-daughter duo working in both sports and production. More details are available here.
  • The Language and Social Interaction Working Group of Columbia’s Teachers College is holding a lecture on Syntax and Multimodality in Pedagogical Practice Action with a professor in language and culture at Linköping University in Sweden. This lecture is on Friday, January 15 from 11:15 to 12:30 pm EST, and you can register here.
  • The Biomedical Engineering department hosts a series called “Tissue Talk,” and this week’s webinar series hosted by Dr. Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic and the Laboratory for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering features Prof. Laura Niklason, Ph.D., M.D. from Yale University on Wednesday, January 13 at 3:00 pm EST.
  • On Friday, January 15 at 11:00 am EST, the Department of Biomedical Engineering welcomes Prof. Treena Arinzeh from NJIT as she presents “Functional Biomaterials for Tissue Regeneration.” This webinar will focus on stem cells as a cell source to be used in combination with biomaterials that act as scaffolds to regenerate tissues.
