Happening in the World: Greta Thunberg was physically removed from the entrance to Oslo’s finance ministry by Norwegian police on Wednesday while protesting the construction of Europe’s largest wind farm. The wind farm is partially located on Indigenous Sami land and in 2021 the Norwegian supreme court ruled in favor of the Sami, citing it as an infringement of their rights; however, the wind farm continues to operate. Thunberg and other activists formed a human chain in front of the door before she was carried off by two police officers to a nearby bench without resisting. (Politico)

The seven-man crew tried to escape on the lifeboat, but it was never deployed and five crew members died. The discovery of the almost perfectly preserved wreck was made in 2019, but only released to the public on Wednesday after much research. (NYT)
