Alexa, play “Friday” by Rebecca Black.
Bwog in Bed: Yesterday, members of Councilmember Francisco Moya’s office announced a bill to address the 230,000 migratory birds that die annually by smashing into NYC windows. This proposal, announced at a rally outside City Hall, would require many privately owned commercial buildings to reduce lighting at night. As light attracts and disorients birds, NYC’s shining glass buildings become death sentences for nearly a quarter million migratory birds that fly through the city on the way to their summer and winter habitats. Jessica Wilson, executive director of NYC Audubon, said “If this bill passes, this would be landmark legislation. It could be a model for the rest of the nation, which is how New York City should be.” (Gothamist)
Study Tip: Don’t! Aren’t finals over? It’s going to be 86 degrees today—go play!
Music of the Day: Rebecca Black, duh. Blast “Friday” and lean into the cringe. The song is stellar and you cannot convince me otherwise.
Procrastination Tip: Frolic on Futter Field!
Overseen/Overheard: My dad obsessed with John Jay when he came to drive me home? Interesting take but he was very excited.
