The “Barnard chop” (noun): A well-known, highly documented phenomenon. Queer Barnard student discovers gender and chops hair.

Sometimes, the “Barnard chop” involved buzz cuts. And hair clippers. And sometimes, that goes slightly awry. Say, for example, I hypothetically decided it was time to re-buzz my hair. Hypothetically, it could have gone slightly awfully, and there could be some semblance of a *whispers* bald spot. Here’s what, hypothetically, one could do:

1. Wear a bandana
2. Color in with sharpie
3. Tar and feather your whole head
4. Shave into a reverse yarmulke
5. Glue some colorful feathers onto your head
6. One of those fancy old lady hats
7. Barnard dad hat
8. Use the clippers on your clothes; go full Regina George and make it a moment
9. Do you wear wigs? Have you worn wigs? Will you wear wigs? When will you wear wigs?
10. Shave your head all the way. Pretend you’re cosplaying as Harry Styles.
11. Get a friend with long to stand next to you and drape their hair over yours.
12. Beanie moment #granola
13. Furry head.
14. Hoodie! Ribbons! Weird hairstyles!
15. Shave the rest?
16. BIGGER hair clips?
17. Bangs to distract.
18. Huge hair ornaments (think like the lana del rey met gala star headpiece..)
19. McDonald’s crown
20. Birthday cones hats
21. Princess coned hats (bonus if you go to renaissance fair)
22. Knight hat (nyc fashion school moment if you will…)
