Happening in the World: Thaksin Shinawatra, the former Prime Minister of Thailand, has been released from a police hospital on parole. The billionaire was freed from a one-year sentence for corruption and abuse of power. Thaksin’s original prison term was to be eight years long, but it was commuted down to one year by Thailand’s king. Thaksin was the first prime minister in Thailand’s history to lead an elected government through a full term in office before he was deposed and exiled by a military coup. (BBC)

Happening in the US: On Saturday, Steph Curry and Sabrina Ionescu faced off head-to-head in the first 3-point challenge between the NBA and the WNBA. Both shot from the NBA 3-point line. Ionescu scored 26 points while Curry scored 29, both of which are lower than the point records for the 3-point contest that the pair have set—37 and 31, respectively. (NBC)

Happening in NYC: Research from Clever Real Estate has listed New York City as having the most expensive pizza on average. The average cost for a large cheese pizza in NYC is $28.60, with the national average being $19.34. (NBC)

Happening in Our Community: Music Monday, a series of free and open-to-the-public concerts at The Forum, will host Elissa Carmona and the award-winning Morrisania Band Project (MBP) on Monday, February 19.
