Happening in the World: India has signed a trade agreement with Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, which consists of a commitment to an $100 billion investment and creating one million jobs in India in the next fifteen years. India has committed to reducing import tariffs on the four countries. This agreement is projected to bring significant economic benefits to all parties as it will increase trade, create jobs, and present new opportunities for businesses and individuals. India is also working on trade agreements with Britain and the European Union. (AP)
Happening in the US: Stratolaunch, a US aerospace company, has successfully conducted the first powered test flight of an unmanned hypersonic craft in California. In a statement, Chief Executive Officer Zachary Krevor said that the craft approached hypersonic speed—Mach 5 and higher—and provided valuable data. The craft, Talon-A, ended its flight by descending into the ocean, but future crafts are planned to be reusable. The main goals of this flight were a safe air-launch release of the vehicle, engine ignition, acceleration, sustained climb in altitude, and a controlled water landing. (AP)
Happening in NYC: A 29-year-old woman had both of her feet amputated after being pushed onto Manhattan subway tracks and being hit by a train. The woman was pushed by her boyfriend after an alleged argument escalated. While the woman was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, the perpetrator fled the station. (NBC)
