  • Join the Center for Constitutional Governance for a discussion with Law Professors Aziz Rana and Kate Andrias on Rana’s new book, The Constitutional Bind: How Americans Came to Idolize a Document That Fails Them. Global Reproductive Rights & Resistance: A Community Conversation & Workshop

  • Thursday, October 17, 5:15 to 7 pm, Barnard Hall, James Room.
  • Barnard faculty Elizabeth Ananat, Kadambari Baxi, Cecelia Lie-Spahn, and Wendy Schor-Haim will present on topics such as using the framework of reproductive justice to analyze unequal access to reproductive care and the practice of self-managed abortions in the US during this community event. Two exhibits on display in Milstein, Trigger Planting 2.0 and Abortion in Context, will also be showcased during this event.

Afro-Argentine Memory Project

  • Thursday, October 17, 6 to 8 pm, International Affairs Building, Room 802. 
  • Co-sponsored by Columbia’s Institute of Latin American Studies and Barnard’s Africana Studies Department, this event features a screening of the new documentary about Afro-Argentine history, Maria Presente: La Memoria en Nuestras Voces. The event will also feature a Q&A with the director, Julia Cohen Ribeiro and the launch of the Afro-Argentine diaspora oral history collection. Food will be provided.
