The Longest Goodbye Screening with CSI
- Friday, November 15, 5 pm, Lerner Cinema.
- Join Columbia Space Initiative (CSI) for their screening of the film The Longest Goodbye, which tells the story of astronaut Cady Coleman and depicts the mental hardships of being an astronaut in a long-term crewed space flight. After the film, Coleman will share her book Sharing Space, and The Longest Goodbye’s producer Valda Witt and director Ido Mizrahy will join Coleman to take student questions.

Mr. Philippines Cultural Pageant
- Sunday, November 17, 3 to 7 pm, Roone Arlidge Auditorium.
- Columbia’s student group Liga Filipina is hosting the 24th annual Mr. Philippines Pageant, a male cultural pageant and the organization’s largest event during the fall semester. Come watch contestants from over twenty Filipino organizations in the New York City and New Jersey area participate in this year’s competition, themed “kapwa”—a Filipino word that describes the deep connection between human beings that is created by something larger than blood or nationality.

Carlo Ginzburg: The Eugene Sheffer Distinguished Speaker
- Wednesday, November 13, 6:30 to 8 pm, Italian Academy.
- This year’s Eugene Sheffer Distinguished Speaker is Carlo Ginzburg, an influential historian and a Senior Fellow of Columbia’s Italian Academy since its inception. Ginzburg will speak on his life’s work and his impacts in the field of history, including his work in microhistory and the history of mentalities.

The Campaigns and the Coverage: Unpacking Politics, Media, and the Next Administration
- Thursday, November 14, 5:30 to 7 pm, Low Library Rotunda.
- Cosponsored by SIPA’s Institute of Global Politics and Columbia Journalism School, this event features a discussion between experts in political science, public affairs, and journalism on how the politics of this election cycle were framed, reported on, and examined in media coverage. Light refreshments will be served.
