Fire: Climate, Wildfires, and the Religious Imagination

  • In this very timely event, speakers will discuss their research on American and Bolivian wildfires, exploring the political, theological, and scientific dimensions of fire. Speakers will also discuss the complexities of taking climate-related action. This is one of the Institute for Religion, Culture, and Public Life’s four events structured around themes of Eath, Fire, Water and Air, which each choose one lens to analyze climate struggles. GIS Day Party!

  • Wednesday, November 20, 4:30 to 7 pm.
  • In person in Milstein 102. Registration is recommended.
  • Barnard’s Empirical Reasoning Center will be celebrating International GIS Day. In this fun event you will be able to design tote bags, create map keychains, eat dinner over a presentation, and even participate in a scavenger hunt! See here for the full schedule.  

Future of Our Oceans: The Wave of Change

  • In-person in Pulitzer Hall’s Lecture Hall. Registration is recommended
  • As our oceans face unprecedented threats, multiple experts will present at this panel to highlight the most pressing issues that our marine ecosystems are facing. The event will also highlight some cool new projects driving meaningful change for our planet! More information.

Dustin Duncan – Vulnerable and Sick: How Can We Do Better During Pandemics?
