Happening in the World: Yesterday, Ukraine and the US reached an agreement on an economic transaction in which the US will gain access to Ukraine’s rare earth materials in exchange for the continued flow of US military funding and aid to Ukraine. Valued at a trillion dollars, the agreement could be signed as early as Friday. The president of Ukraine plans to meet with Trump in the upcoming days to discuss this transaction. (AP)

Happening in the US: The House passed a GOP budget plan yesterday, calling for tax cuts and federal spending reductions. With a passing vote of 217 to 215, this plan entails $4.5 trillion in tax cuts and a $2 trillion reduction in federal spending over the next decade. While Republicans are still debating which federal programs to cut, they are planning to target Medicaid and food aid programs. (NYT)

Happening in NYC: Transit miracles do happen. On Tuesday, the MTA opened a new passageway that will allow for a smoother connection between the 7 train and the mezzanine of the Grand Central-42nd Street station. This $75 million passageway features new lighting and freshly painted walls and will improve the commute of approximately 150,000 daily 7 train riders. This passageway will also be appreciated by Mets fans taking the 7 train to Citi Field. (Gothamist)
