Biology Seminar – Can metabolism be exploited for improved cancer therapy?

Breathe Free: Environmental Justice from New Orleans to Harlem

  • Speakers from New Orleans who worked tirelessly to clean up a historically Black beach will discuss their methods and successes In their fight for environmental justice. They will be asked to share their perspective on science’s role in vital community work—more information.

Earth’s Big Ice: Ancient, Mysterious and Changing

  • Wednesday, February 12, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. 
  • Monell Auditorium, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, 61 Route 9W, Palisades, NY 10964. Registration required.
  • Marine and Polar Geophysics Professor Robin Bell will enlighten attendees on the secret world of the Antarctic and Greenland Ice Sheets. These sheets contain complex networks that reveal evidence of ongoing human-caused changes. The event contains a reception followed by an hour-long lecture. More information.
