Highlights:
On Friday, the baseball team defeated Penn with a 4-3 win, earning themselves a place in the Ivy League Tournament. This game was high stakes, with a 2-2 tie at the top of the ninth inning. After catcher Owen Estabrook (CC ‘27) dropped a hit, first-year Tate Vogler scored a run, putting the Lions ahead. Sophomore Hunter Snyder (CC ‘27) came behind with his second RBI (runs batted in) of the game, bringing the score to 4-2. At the bottom of the ninth, Penn scored a crucial run before threatening to tie the score before Columbia’s outfield saved the day, with first-year pitcher Alex Sotiropoulos (SEAS ‘28) inducing a flyout to solidify the Lion’s win. Go Lions!
