  • The Haitian Students Association is hosting this event with games and food!

Pedro Sánchez, President of the Government of Spain

  • Monday, September 22, 12 to 1 pm, Low Library Rotunda.
  • Kicking off the 2025 World Leaders Forum, Pedro Sanchez will be speaking in conversation with Professor Adam Tooze about “A Progressive Response to Current Global Challenges.” Sanchez has been President of the Government of Spain since 2018 and has also been also General Secretary of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party since 1993. The event will be followed by a moderated Q&A session.

Duma Gideon Boko, President of the Republic of Botswana

  • Monday, September 22, 3:30 to 4:30 pm, Low Library Rotunda.
  • This conversation, centered on “Diamonds, Democracy, and Development: Botswana’s Blueprint for Shared Prosperity,” will feature President Duma Gideon Boko and Wafaa El-Sadr, the Executive Vice President of Columbia Global. They will focus on Botswana’s economic transformation through resource management.

Collective Care at Times of Repression

  • Tuesday, September 23, 12:10 to 1:10 pm, 107 Jerome Greene Hall. 
  • Sponsored by Columbia Law School and the Human Rights Institute, this important conversation will feature Professor Manaswi Sangraula of the Mailman School of Public Health and human rights’ activist Yara Sallam. They will discuss how social movements sustain and take care of themselves during difficult moments and how resilience can sustain movements through pressures and losses.

Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, President of North Macedonia

  • Wednesday, September 23, 4 to 5 pm, Low Library Rotunda. 
  • With the theme “The Western Balkans’ Marathon Towards the European Union,” this conversation between President Siljanovska-Davkova and Professor Jack Snyder will focus on the democratization of Southeastern Europe. This event is cosponsored by the Harriman Institute and the East Central European Center.
