Are you interested in getting involved with arts on campus? This edition of Where Art Thou is a guide to all of the arts auditions in the week to come.

First, I want to give a warm welcome to everyone joining our arts community this fall! For those new to Barnumbia, “Where Art Thou” is a weekly guide to interesting and notable performances and events for the literary/musically/theatrically inclined. If you have an event or a group that you’d like to be featured, send me an email at avery@baumel.com. We try to include as many events as we can find and fit, but reaching out to us is the best way to make sure your event is promoted to the student community and is covered by a staffer.

For the first few weeks of school, though, Where Art Thou will look a little different. Instead of events, we’ll post all of the arts auditions on campus in the upcoming week. Check back on Sunday for more auditions and events!

To any aspiring arts writers: Come write for Bwog! Art criticism, and student journalism more generally, is deeply rewarding. Writing reviews and conducting interviews has been one of my favorite parts about my Columbia experience. I’ve met so many incredible artists and seen some of the best shows of my life. If you’re interested, I’d love to see you at our first open meeting :)

Let’s have a wonderful year of art and magic!

xoxo Avery Baumel (CC ‘26, Bwog Arts Editor)
