Check out Colombia UnTapped’s performance today!

Happening off-Campus: Christmas tree season kicked off in Pennsylvania with a massive auction where tens of thousands of real trees and decorations were sold to retailers gearing up for the holidays. Even with artificial trees growing more popular, many buyers and growers say the fresh smell and tradition of real trees still draw people in, especially families with kids. Despite shifting consumer habits, prices for farm-grown trees have stabilized, and growers are hopeful that real trees will make a comeback. (AP)

Happening near Campus: In Jackson Heights, over half a dozen lawsuits have been filed against La Mesa Verde apartments for unlivable conditions. These include rat urine and feces scattered across an infant’s crib, plumes of black mold blooming over bathroom ceilings, and cockroaches crawling up the drains. Many tenants are demanding that the landlords address open code violations, pay outstanding fines to the city, and recoup the tenants’ legal costs. (Gothamist)

Happening on Campus: From 6:30 to 7:30 pm, check out Columbia UnTapped in Lerner Hall Blackbox Theater. “Dig It” is Columbia UnTapped’s annual showcase highlighting energetic and skillful tap performances by students from Columbia and Barnard.
