Lots of love to all those who wrote for Science this semester.
This semester at Bwog, we have tried to highlight the vast and interdisciplinary nature of all things Science at Columbia. Let us look back at all the wonderful Science coverage that informed and interested us this fall.
Bwog’s Science section works to cover important guest lectures, seminars, and student events on campus. If you have a correction or addition, let us know in the comments or email science@bwog.com.
We would love to feature your club or organization! If you are interested in us covering an event for your club, or having it featured in our weekly roundup, please submit them to science@bwog.com or DM us on Instagram @Bwog.
This October, new Staff Writer Mel Yu covered a fascinating event merging science and history, featuring a guest lecture on contested expertise of Ottoman court astrologers. Next, our wonderful Deputy Science Editor Zora Day-Friedland attended a unique talk hosted by Columbia’s Climate School and AJR’s Adam Met, where he and the Climate School Dean discussed (and disagreed) on how to get people to care about climate change through positive dialogue.
This November, Staff Writer Manaia wrote a wonderful analysis of a workshop on the intersection of AI and Music at, you guessed it, the Music Library!
Next semester, look out for Bwog Science on campus, where we have been asking students and faculty what science means to them. More to come in an upcoming article!
