Happening Off-Campus: The investigation of the collision of an Air Canada jet and a fire truck at LaGuardia Airport on March 22 was slowed down due to complications with the federal government shutdown, in addition to long airport lines at other airports across the country delayed the travel of dozens of specialists who are set to take part in the investigation. Happening Near Campus: A growing petition with over 5000 signatures is calling on city officials and the High Line to keep the “Dinosaur”, a 21-foot tall aluminum pigeon that overlooks the High Line at 30th Street and 10th Avenue. Petition supporters say that the statue is a beloved symbol of the city, and hope that it will be here to stay. (Gothamist)
