Staff writer Emorie Hayes waxes some thoughts about the breach of campus slumber.

The heady fluctuation of weather has encroached over campus,

Blessing us with silky warm days, a slight taste bestowed upon us of how warm the coming months could be

Today, you walk outside coated in shorts or a dress, sandals dressing your feet as they kiss the ground, the birds chirping and rays gliding down your back

Tomorrow, you slink out of bed, scarf tucked under your chin, the sole of your boots caressing the cold soles of your feet, cold winds tousling your hair

Oh Spring, how you tease

The sweet smile of yours that simmers with sunshine, giving us enough grace to walk around with a short sleeve, but not too brash enough to lose the jacket from our day to day attire

The campus, once so quiet and disturbed by the weather, students sidled in the crack of their dorms like slinking bugs, hoping to stay hidden from the frigid cold

A once dark cloak of sadness that enveloped our campus in a smothering hug, has now shifted to a warm embrace

Happiness is imminent!
