Also, Hershey is cooking up… something old.
Happening off campus: Yesterday, Hershey announced it will return to its classic recipes for Reese’s products in 2027. This comes after Brad Reese, grandson of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups inventor H.B. Reese, publicly criticized the company for shifting the quality of their ingredients in February. Though the products have always been manufactured using real chocolate and peanut butter, some are being made with a coating containing lower quantities of chocolate due to high cocoa prices. Hershey will also begin transitioning to natural colors and refining the Kit-Kat recipe next year. (AP)
Happening near campus: Megan Thee Stallion will return to the Broadway stage with “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” today after being hospitalized on Tuesday. The rapper began performing as the show’s emcee Zidler last week, a move that resulted in a 39% increase in box office gross compared to the week prior. She fell ill with exhaustion and dehydration during an evening performance, but a spokesperson has stated that she “has since been treated, discharged and is now resting” and “is incredibly grateful for the prayers and well wishes from her supporters and is looking forward to resuming her role as Zidler.” (NYT)
Happening on-campus: Today at 12 pm in Kent Hall, University Life is hosting Columbia University in the Neighborhood of Harlem. The latest in Campus Conversations will focus on the impact of the University on the surrounding area and the history of Columbia’s relationship with West Harlem. Light refreshments are provided, register here.
