Bwogger gives the masses last-minute Halloween costume suggestions, with inspiration derived from Barnard and Columbia!
Halloween is a couple of days away, and I know what it is like to go to a spontaneous party after using up all the costumes you planned. I decided to remedy this by looking around and getting inspiration from the campuses around us! These are some costumes inspired by Barnumbia! (I am not a Barnard student so i’m sorry if I don’t think of any great ones. Have mercy.)
- The Thinker – Obviously this statue isn’t unique to just Columbia University, but it would be a super cute costume if you minus the need to stay in the thinking pose the whole time.
- Rory x Millie couples costume – I mean like.. This is a given.. And would be like the cutest ever maybe. I think it is stronger as a duo! I don’t care to see a shirtless man with a lion’s mane claiming to be Rory!
- Any of the philosophers whose names are on Butler. – Some names on Butler are better than others when it comes to Halloween. Imagine this group costume though? Could be cute?
- Barnard Spirit of Greek Games statue – With the torch as a prop?
- Carman Hall elevators crowd – Group costume that could range anywhere from 4 people to 20. Bonus points if you have a speaker to blast while you huddle together in a giant group
- The Great God Pan statue – There is a very chic way to do this that doesn’t involve being naked. Hoof or tabi flats, goat ears, a beard and a pipe? Awesome. Bronze face paint, duh. There is definitely something here.
- Performative man
- Performative masc lesbian
- Man playing spike ball on the lawns
- Princess Diana (with a bowl maybe?)
- Athlete in Hewitt
- Hooda Hallal cart
- CUEMS – Either the ambulance or the workers, albeit dressing as a CUEMS worker would perhaps be an issue if someone needs you at a party
- Chef Dons x Chef Mikes – I’m not sure how to do this, like I think a sandwich x a pizza would be fun, but you have to indicate it’s THESE pizzas and sandwiches.
- Alma Mater – You need the owl though.
- Mnookin
That’s all I could muster up, but I really hope to see these one day!
