Protests have sprang up around the United States, including many in New York, and the government has already begun to implement the tools necessary for a peaceful transfer of power.

A surprising winner in this election is the death penalty. A pro-death-penalty clause was added to Oklahoma’s constitution, Nebraska voted to repeal its ban of the death penalty, and California fought down a measure to repeal the death penalty and instead sped it up. (CBS News)
