New York City is packed with amazing culture and inspiring art, but sometimes it’s difficult to break the Morningside-bubble and experience it all first-hand. “Where Art Thou” is a weekly guide to interesting and notable lectures, events, and performances for the literary/musically/theatrically-inclined on campus.

On Campus:

• The 126th Annual Varsity Show’s West End Preview is this Wednesday at 8 and 10 PM, in the Glicker-Milstein Theater. The VShow cast will perform a sneak-peek selection of songs and scenes in anticipation of this May’s show. Tickets $4.50.
• This Thursday at 6:30 PM, catch an exclusive screening of Antonio and Piti with the Lenfest Center event Water, Sound, and Indigenous Film. Produced by the Video nas Aldeias collective, which trains and supports indigenous filmmakers in Brazil, this film tells the story of a love affair between a Peruvian-born indigenous man and the daughter of Chico Coló, a white rubber tapper soldier. Off Campus:

• On Tuesday, head to the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture at 6:30 PM for I Love Myself When I Am Laughing: A Zora Neale Hurston Reader. The reissue of I Love Myself When I Am Laughing, the groundbreaking collection of works by writer, anthropologist, and Barnard alum Zora Neale Hurston, will be accompanied by a panel conversation about Hurston’s legacy. • The anticipated film Portrait of a Lady on Fire opens this weekend. On Saturday, February 15, filmmaker Celine Sciamma will join The Landmark theater at 57 West for a Q&A. Set in France in the 1760s, the film follows the blossoming love between a young painter and the lady whose wedding portrait she is hired to paint. Tickets from $18.50.
