Weekly Roundup of how COVID is progressing at the Columbia community

Welcome to a new feature of Bwog where I will be recapping the previous week of COVID data at Columbia. This will be brought to you every Monday.

At Columbia

There were 9453 tests conducted with 52 tests coming back positive for a 0.55% positivity rate. 110 people are in isolation, 145 are in quarantine, and 5 are hospitalized. This positivity rate is slightly higher than the cumulative rate (0.42%).

Of the 7201 tests done at the Morningside, Manhattanville, and Lamont-Doherty campuses, 0.56% are positive, while the 2252 tests done at CUIMC came back with a 0.53% positivity rate.

Since June 22, 2020, Columbia has conducted 135,484 tests with 570 being positive for a 0.42% positivity rate.

At Barnard

There were 1470 tests conducted with 4 tests coming back positive for a 0.20% positivity rate. 33 people are in isolation, 49 are in quarantine. This positivity rate is slightly lower than the cumulative rate (0.22%).

Since August 8th, 2020, Barnard has conducted 17,564 tests with 39 being positive for a 0.22% positivity rate,

In NYC

Bars, restaurants, and fitness centers are to close from 10 pm to 5 am everyday. There is currently no indoor dining allowed. Currently New Yorkers are expected to maintain 6 feet of distance, or wear a face covering/ mask when this is not possible, like on public transportation. As of Friday, November 13th, private indoor and or outdoor gatherings of 10+ people are not allowed.
