Welcome Class of 2027!
At 7:30 pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, Barnard released its early application decisions for the incoming Class of 2027.
According to a Barnard spokesperson, Barnard received yet another record breaking number of Early Decision applications with a total of 1,671, 11% more than the Class of 2026.
Of the admitted students, 47% identify as students of color, with 24% from racially underrepresented identities, and 12% are the first in their family to attend a four-year college. The Early Decision class comes from 41 states and territories and 34 countries, and of the students who reported rank, 94% were in the top 10% of their graduating class. 53% of applicants applied test-optional, as Barnard continues their temporary test optional policy. The ED class will make up about 60% of the incoming class of 2027.
A statement shared with Bwog from Christina Lopez, Dean of Enrollment Management said, “This year’s Early Decision Class of 2027 is made up of a stellar group of intellectually curious and community-minded students. They have handled the last few years with such grace and strength, and pushed themselves to grow and engage despite the many challenges they faced.”
Congratulations to all newly-admitted students! Bwog is more than excited to see you all on campus next semester.
