It’s that time of the year again: Columbia’s World Leaders Forum is here! From the president of the Dominican Republic to the president of the European Parliament, leaders from all fields will arrive at Columbia to discuss critical issues facing different nations.

Cooperation Democracy: Toward A More Sustainable, Equal, and Just Society

  • The Undergraduate Committee on Global Thought will be holding a conversation with Professor Bernard E. Harcourt, Founding Director of the Columbia Center for Contemporary Critical Thought, about his new book, Cooperation: A Political, Economic, and Social Theory.

Wild Visionary: Maurice Sendak in Queer Jewish Context

  • Tuesday, September 19, 12 pm – 1:30 pm, Uris Hall 107.
  • Join the Institue for Israel and Jewish Studies and the Institute for the Study of Sexuality and Gender at Columbia for a book talk with Golan Moskowitz, author of Wild Visionary: Maurice Sendak in Queer Jewish Context which explores how Sendak’s multiple perspectives as a gay, Holocaust-conscious, American-born son of Yiddish-speaking Jewish immigrants from Poland informed his life and work.

Constitution Day event with President Laura Rosenbury 

  • Tuesday, September 19, 6 pm to 8:30 pm, Held Auditorium (Barnard Hall).
  • In acknowledgment of Constitution Day, Community Engagement & Inclusion (CEI) will be holding a screening of Heidi Schreck’s play What the Constitution Means to Me? followed by a post-show discussion with President Laura Rosenbury. Dinner will be served.

First Annual Transatlantic Kellen Conference Series

  • Friday, September 22 – Saturday, September 23, Faculty House.
  • Columbia University Program for Economic Research and Science Po are holding the inaugural conference of the Kellen Conference Series, focused on bridging the discussion of salient economic issues between academia and the private sector.
