In conversations with several business owners facing the repercussions of Trump’s tariffs, it is clear that the situation is both concerning and difficult for many in China, with one owner calling Trump “a crazy man.” The effects of these tariffs will soon be felt in American kitchens and living rooms, as these goods are now being sold at much higher prices. Happening in the US: In recent days, Lil Nas X has been hospitalized due to losing control over the right side of his face. While he hasn’t shared the cause of this paralysis, he has been very active on social media and seems to be handling the situation well, posting light-hearted Instagram stories. Happening in NYC: To keep the city clean, NYC’s Sanitation Department has installed new high-tech trash containers in Upper Manhattan. Hoping to rid trash bag piles from the streets, these “Empire Bins” are now located outside eight uptown schools. However, only building staff or sanitation workers can open these bins, as they remain locked and require special electronic keycards. According to sanitation officials and Upper Manhattan residents, the new bins have already decreased the number of rat sightings. (Gothamist)
