RIP Chastity gates.

Name, School, Major, Hometown: Miranda, Barnard, Chemistry major + Theatre minor, from Milton, MA and Las Vegas, NV (kinda).

Claim to fame: Girl who tells you when to walk across the stage at Barnard grad, first two-time CMTS director since Nina Lam (CMTS’s literal advisor), “latina, bisexual, stem baddie in theatre… what more could you want from a girl living in nyc?!”

Where are you going? …home for a bit? I guess?

What are three things you learned at Columbia and would like to share with the Class of
2029?

  1. Keep a quote book and read it back regularly :)
  2. Download Columbia evening shuttle and take those free ubers everywhere babe!
  3. Dedicated to my friend Sophie: a borg should have water. It is not just alcohol and
flavoring. Please please put water in it and have a very merry bacchanal.

“Back in my day…” Chastity gates, Barnard sex ban, sneaking in boyfriends in suitcases, the quad fire, there was no vag-jj’s (late night Diana), and yes, of course, the gates were open.

Favorite Columbia lore? Ben Platt was naked in Roone Arledge auditorium in CMTS’ production of Hair in his only 2 months on campus. Take that Nonseq.

What was your favorite class at Columbia? History and Practice of Producing with Steven Chaikelson & Erica Rotstein, and Witches with Wendy Schor-Haim ✨

Would you rather give up oral sex or cheese? I’ve never heard of either of those?

Whom would you like to thank? So so many people, but most especially my friends :) Sophie, Sylvie, Mimi, Mia, Is, Julia, Shea, Stella ++ many more, love you all—you made this place what it is <3

One thing to do before graduating? Take grad pics… oops. @okr_photography ?

Any regrets? Only a few, but none so big as the love I have for everything that I did choose to do… so goes being a senior I suppose <3
