China’s Role in Global Climate Investment: Paving the Way for COP30

  • China is facing unique problems in its approach to climate change and investment. This event will focus on how it is balancing economic development and climate change reduction ahead of the COP30 summit in November. This online talk is hosted by the Columbia Global Center Beijing and will feature a number of panelists, including researchers and policy experts.

  • Sponsored by the Barnard Center for Research on Women, this event brings together Professor Dylan Rodriguez of UC Riverside and Professor Ezekiel Dixon-Roman of Teachers College, Columbia University on the centennial of Frantz Fanon. The talk will be followed by a Q&A.

Democracy Beyond Elections: Assemblies and Institutional Reform

  • Thursday, September 18, 11 am to 12 pm, on Zoom.
  • Professor Jenny Mansbridge of the Harvard Kennedy School and Director at the National Civic League Matt Leighninger are leading this online event centered on the role of citizens’ assemblies in American democracy and their wider role in social movements. This talk is sponsored by Columbia World Projects and FIDE, the Federation for Innovation in Democracy.
