No plans tonight? No problem. Night Market returns to Low Plaza!
Happening off-Campus: As of this morning, Tropical Storm Melissa is just over 150 miles south-southeast of Kingston, Jamaica. With sustained wind speeds of 45 mph, the storm is forecasted to intensify into a Category 4 hurricane or higher by Sunday, bringing torrential rainfall to the Caribbean islands. Officials are urging residents to prepare for potential power outages, flooding, landslides, and hazardous sea conditions. (CNN)
Happening near Campus: A new 15 mph speed limit for e-bikes and scooters goes into effect today in NYC. The limit, modeled after similar ones in Europe, comes after the city experienced over 600 pedestrian deaths from e-bike incidents last year. Officials hope the law will make streets safer for pedestrians, as well as the growing number of delivery workers using e-bikes and scooters to get around. (Gothamist)
