Bwog hopes everyone is having a good weekend and is able to enjoy the NYC Weather!

Happening off-Campus: Today marks the 40th day of the government shutdown, and the Senate has shown little progress toward ending it. Meanwhile, judges have ruled that the Trump administration cannot cancel November’s SNAP benefits despite the ongoing shutdown. You can check here to see whether your state is providing SNAP benefits during this time. (AP)

Happening near Campus: Right now in NYC, you can experience peak fall foliage on the city’s tree leaves. Head over to your local park to see a rainbow of autumn colored leaves on the tree lines. NYC’s park departments say there’s only one more week before the tree leaves start shedding, so head over soon! For serious foliage lovers, check out free foliage events from the parks department here.

Happening on Campus: Tonight, come to Lerner Roone Arledge Auditorium from 6:30 to 8:30 to watch the Plus86 fall showcase. This showcase features Columbia’s Chinese street dance crew, who are hosting a night filled with dances ranging from jazz to hip-hop and more! Tickets are required. Find more info here.
