Go support your dancing peers at New York Live Arts this weekend!
Happening off-Campus: Yesterday, President Donald Trump signed legislation that allows his administration to release all Department of Justice files and communications related to Jeffrey Epstein. The law gives the DOJ thirty days to disclose the material and permits only limited redactions to protect victims or ongoing investigations, barring the agency from withholding documents over concerns about embarrassment or political sensitivity. Trump, who could have released many of the records earlier, reversed his stance as bipartisan congressional action became unavoidable and signaled that the controversy had become a distraction from the GOP’s broader agenda. Happening near Campus: Yesterday, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced she will remain in her role under incoming Mayor Zohran Mamdani, with both leaders highlighting shared goals of reducing crime and combating corruption despite differences on issues such as bail reform, protest policing, disciplinary procedures, and enforcement of low-level offenses. Mamdani had pledged during the final mayoral debate to ask Tisch to stay, a decision welcomed by law enforcement officials and moderates but met with skepticism from his progressive base. (Gothamist)
