Highlights:
On Wednesday, the Columbia women’s basketball team defeated Manhattan, 84-38 on their home turf. Columbia went on an early run, scoring the first eight points of the game, and never lost their lead. Despite attempts from Manhattan to cut the lead, the Lions remained dominant throughout, including a 24-0 run that spanned 10 minutes.
Columbia showed out defensively, forcing 19 Manhattan turnovers and 16 steals.
Offensively, the Lions were dominant, with senior Perri Page (CC ‘26) leading scoring with 15 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Page’s co-captain, Senior Susie Rafiu (CC ‘26), held the game-high of 10 rebounds.
Following Page in points was Nasi Simmons (CC ‘28) and Riley Weiss (CC ‘27) with 12 points each. This was a career-high number for Simmons. Mia Broom (CC ‘28) and María Arrebola (CC ‘28) each scored 10 points off the bench to add to the Lions’ dominant lead.
The Lions’ next home game will be on Saturday, December 20 at 1 pm vs. UTSA at Levien Gymnasium. Go Lions!
