More basketball and spring sports are starting up.

Highlights

On Saturday, February 21, Columbia men’s basketball (15-10, 4-7 Ivy) lost to Dartmouth (11-13, 5-6 Ivy), 63-64, in a heartbreaking fashion.  The game was very close both at halftime and at the very end, with two free throws from Mason Ritter (SEAS ‘28) giving Columbia the lead with 16 seconds left. However, two free throws from Dartmouth’s Jackson Munro with three seconds left pulled the Big Green ahead. Kenny Noland (CC ‘26) led in scoring with 17 points, while Connor Igoe (CC ‘29) had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Conversely, on the same day, Columbia’s women’s basketball team (18-6, 9-2 Ivy) demolished Dartmouth (10-14, 1-10 Ivy), 81-42. The game was not close from the beginning, as Columbia held Dartmouth to only 3 points in the first quarter and 14 points by halftime. Riley Weiss (CC ‘27) led in scoring with 20 points, while Mia Broom (CC ‘28) had 16.

In addition, on Sunday, February 22, Columbia’s wrestling team crushed Bucknell 30-6, giving them the most regular season wins in team history since the 1996-1997 season.
