Happening Off Campus: President Donald Trump signed an executive order to make specific psychedelic drugs more available to treat mental health conditions. A sum of $50 million in federal funds to make them more readily accessible and ordered the Food and Drug Administration to quickly track a review of drugs such as psilocybin and ibogaine. In the following weeks to come, the FDA will issue national priority vouchers to ensure this could be done within the allotted time discussed by President Trump. (NPR)

Happening Near Campus: Mayor Zohran Mamdani and former President Barack Obama visited an early childhood education center in the South Bronx this past Saturday. Students and teachers were surprised by Obama’s appearance, with students squealing upon seeing them. The students were read to by political figures, with the interactions between both figures full of positive chemistry, which encouraged the students’ enthusiasm and engagement in the learning process. The event highlighted that a connection can be established between government leaders and the public. (Gothamist)

Happening On Campus: Professor and ACLU President Deborah Archer discusses the roots of inequality and the steps necessary for a lasting reform. Alongside her, Professor Susan Sturm tackles the dismantling and rebuilding of educational institutions, focusing on how these changes can promote equity and access for all students.
