Happening Off Campus: President Trump and the first lady are left uninjured after a shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday in Washington, D.C. The Secret Service stated the incident took place at a security screening occurring inside the venue near the entrance to the main ballroom where the dinner was taking place. At a conference, Jeffrey Carrol of DC’s Metropolitan Police said the suspect held multiple weapons in their inventory, such as a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives. After 8:30 pm ET in the Washington Hilton, several gunshots were heard in the ballroom. No one was harmed from the event. (NPR)
