Columbia ekes out a win in football game, and other updates.

Football

On Friday, October 9, Columbia’s football team (3-1, 0-1 Ivy) defeated Marist, 41-28, in Poughkeepsie, NY. With the game tied at 21-21 entering the 4th quarter, followed by a touchdown from Marist with 14:18 left in the game, Columbia scored three unanswered touchdowns in addition to a 2-point safety to pull away into a 41-28 victory in the Lions’ final non-conference game of the football season. Columbia went 3-0 in non-conference games; the most recent previous time they went undefeated in non-conference play was in 2022.

Field Hockey

On Friday, October 9, the field hockey team (6-4, 2-2 Ivy) lost to Yale, 1-3, in New Haven, CT. On Sunday, October 11, the Lions defeated La Salle, 2-1, in Conshohocken, PA.

Men’s Soccer

On Tuesday, October 6, the men’s soccer team (3-2-4, 0-1-2 Ivy) tied with Brown, 1-1, at home in Commisso Soccer Stadium. On Saturday, October 10, the team tied with Princeton, 1-1, also at home. 

Women’s Soccer

On Saturday, October 10, the women’s soccer team (2-6-3, 1-1 Ivy) defeated Cornell at home, 3-0.

Volleyball

On Friday, October 9, the volleyball team (7-7, 1-4 Ivy) was defeated by Harvard at home, 0-3. On Saturday, October 10, the Lions defeated Dartmouth at home, 3-2.
