On the hunt for some free food this lovely October evening? Bwog has a suprise for you: we’ve prepared a three course prix-fixe, and the prix is free.
First Course: Pasta
Curious about how to navigate your sexual identity within the study abroad experience? Come to Lerner Hall Room 401 from 6:00-7:30 for a discussion featuring Columbia students’ portrayals of the LGBTQ experience abroad. And while you’re there, get your digestive system warmed up with free pasta.
Main Dish: Pizza
If you’re looking for a good old slice of pizza pie to round out that carb binge, climb your way to the 7th floor Lerner Conference Room (we didn’t know Lerner had 7 floors either) at 7:30 for “Occupy Wall Street – Gender on the Frontlines,” where you can discuss the sexual undertones of the 99% while indulging on slices of a thoroughly blue-collar delicacy.
After-dinner Drinks: Bubble Tea
Time to cool off that palate? If you happen to be interested in studying abroad in Asia, or just like bubble tea, The Office of Global Programs is hosting an Asia 101 information session at 8:00 in the EALAC lounge on Kent’s 4th floor. They’ll discuss semester, academic-year, and summer study opportunities in China, Japan, Nepal, India, Indonesia, and more between sips of bubble tea.
Update: A fourth course has been added for your dining pleasure. Truly a feast fit for a king!
If you’re looking for something with a bit less bread-based, stroll over to the Broadway Room in Lerner at 7 for “Educacion Sin Barreras: ‘Facing the Barriers of Latino Education.'” There will be Arroz y pollo (from El Rey de la Caridad) as well as more snacks! Listen to a discussion on education barriers for Latinos and other underrepresented groups as you chow down.
Update: But it doesn’t end there—save room for dessert!
Wash it all down with Italian sodas from the Culinary Society at 9:30 pm in the Satow Room. They’ll have homemade syrups: pear-ginger, cinnamon-vanilla, citrus, fig and rosemary, and basil. Better pace yourself.
