Casual Friday night in

The first weekend of the semester went probably as well or as terrible as you expected. Some claimed the seat in Butler they will occupy until December while others continued to slop without the ‘n.’ Either way, it was quite the weekend to not remember. Here we bring you the first field notes of the school year. Tell us all about your poor decisions next weekend at tips@bwog.com.

Sloppy Nights

  • In Woodbridge: “Am I too high for HamDel?”
  • Overheard: “If I go to 1020, will someone buy me a whiskey sour?”
  • Got drunk, emailed the listserv, typical Drinking with Bwog.”
  • “My friend had two guys who were visiting from Stanford come out with us. We tried to impress them with the nightlife but the best we could do was a booth at 1020, Heights margs, and making them climb every statue on campus. Is this the Columbia experience?”
  • “Big shit going on at EC right now. 10 Public safety officers here, hundred or so people in the courtyard (along with public safety) and no one besides EC residents are being let in. Apparently most of these people don’t even go to Columbia.”
  • Overheard: “Have you had Butler sex?” “No, but I’ve almost in SIPA!” “No one is impressed by that; everyone knows it’s basically a brothel.”
  • “Came home with the munchies to a full box on insomnia cookies. God is real.”
  • “I was at Koronets on 2 a.m. on Saturday and witnessed like eight bros get in a drunken shoving match after one knocked another’s slice onto the ground. Some guys working at Westside broke it up.”
  • “Tried to go to potluck campus left party on thursday but it was quickly shut down by public safety, probably bc of general smell of vomit/weed. Still took two hours for me to get back to q house (which is on the same block, other side of broadway) because I ran into so many people.”
  • “Went to First Friday for a friend. We ended up closing it out with Anaconda and Dancing On My Own.”
  • Went to Passport to Columbia for the food and then found out that you can’t get food until after intermission (I left).”
