You know you want to join the coolest clique on campus

Tired of Spec flyers plastered all over your door? Found yourself writing puns while bored in CC? Got a poetically written, kind-of creepy poem about your favorite campus statue scrawled in a notebook somewhere? If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, we have some incredible news: Bwog might just be the place for you. And, better yet, we’re currently recruiting!

Writing at Bwog gives you opportunities beyond your wildest dreams. You can write posts that discuss important campus issues, and bring your perspectives to thousands of people. You can also hone your stealth photography skills by taking candids of Deantini lost on campus. You can even read all the truly fascinating emails that get sent to tips. And, most importantly, you can get free snacks every Sunday at 7pm for the rest of your time at Columbia.

We’re currently looking for one new Daily Editor for the spring semester. Dailies are responsible for running Bwog on a daily basis (as you might’ve guessed based on the name) – one day of the week, each week, they edit and format all posts that go up on the site, write short posts as necessary to fill content gaps, and scream quietly in the corners of libraries if anyone forgets to write their posts on time. For all of this stress and minor trauma, they have the supreme privilege of writing tags. (This may seem like nothing to you, but trust us, it’s a coveted job.)

If you don’t want quite that much responsibility, you can apply to be a Staff Writer; this position merely involves regularly writing posts on any vaguely-campus-related topic of your choosing (within reason.) And if you want a cool title, you can apply to be a Bureau Chief for SGA, ESC, or GSSC; these positions involve attending one bureau meeting each week and providing coverage to be posted on Bwog the following day. The SGA Bureau Chief, perhaps the best position in all of Bwog, comes with the the highly desirable title of “Barnard Bearoness.” (Note: you don’t have to be a Barnard student to apply for this position.)

If you’re interested in any of those three positions, fill out the application below (for Daily Editors and/or Staff Writers) or describe your Bureau Chief interest, and email it to board@bwog.com by Tuesday, January 26 at 11:59pm. Email any questions to tips@bwog.com or ask them at the open meeting this Sunday, January 24 at 7:00pm in Lerner 505.
