Starting strong in their first home matches of the year, the men’s and women’s soccer teams both recorded emphatic victories this weekend. Senior James Prince and first-years Nick Scott and Will Stamatis all scored to lead the men’s team over Long Island, 3-1, while, for the women, 2008 Ivy League Player of the Year Sophie Reiser scored her second career hat trick in a 4-0 win over Manhattan last night.
The sports gods were also kind to the cross country teams, as both the men’s and women’s teams easily won the Binghamton Invitational. Not so fortunate were the volleyball team, who lost their first game of the day to Stony Brook (their second game, against Iona, is in progress in Levien), and the field hockey team, who squandered a 3-0 lead to fall 4-3 to Bucknell.
