Roone Aldridge Cinema, Lerner Hall
On the evening of November 24, the Columbia Chapter of the Roosevelt Institute will host the Truman National Security Project for a panel discussion of the current state of policy planning in respect to Afghanistan. The purpose of this event is to examine the limitations of current American, NATO, and United Nations policy toward Afghanistan. Through our discussion, we hope to identify common goals across the civil and military communities in order to bring the war to a succesful terminus. More importantly, we hope to delineate new ideas in our Afghan foreign policy by which these common goals may ultimately be realized.
Among the senior fellows of the TNSP who will be on the panel is Andrew Sloan–US Army Veteran and recipient of the Bronze and Purple Heart. Joining him will be Katherine Brown, former Communications Advisor at the United States Embassy in Kabul, and Oren Ipp, consultant with the United Nations Development Programme. The Truman National Security Project is a national security leadership institute that recruits and trains a new generation of leaders to advance progressive national security policy.
