For those of you who couldn’t manage to uproot for spring break to fly away “with a few of the girls,” INY is still looking out for you. If you’re stranded for the weekend, check out Bwog’s top picks, and if bad luck or choice (for those of us who were cultivated in a vacuous suburb) has you here for the week, make sure to check out their website for endless eats and escapades.
Pervert your childhood recollections: Get crunked at the Museum of Natural History
On Friday at 9pm Rose Center, the planetarium that taught you about science things like space and math before you sat at a round table for Lit Hum, will be transformed into a drunken rave that is cleverly coined “One Step Beyond.” Occurring about once a month, the Rose Center has shared its dome with artists like Kanye West and Animal Collective. 21+

WHERE: The American Museum of Natural History @ Central Park West & 79th street
PRICE: $20 in advance, $25 after 6pm day of show
Altruism After Dark
After taking a “step beyond” at the Museum on Natural History, join activist groups in Brooklyn to raise awareness for the devastation of Haiti that is far from alleviated despite its disappearance from Fox News. But don’t expect a humanitarian demonstration of the usual sort, because these activists plan to do their best work with performances by Arthur’s landing, ARP, Versus, Reggie Watts, 12 top NYC DJ’s, and cheap drinks. All proceeds go to Doctor’s without borders.
WHERE: The Public Assembly @ 70 North 6th Street in Williamsburg Brooklyn
WHEN: Fri, March 12 @ 8pm—Late

Step down to a whole new low with “Dumpster Tequila”
“Dumpster Tequila,” a local improv DJ group, will try to redeem MTV’s alternative era of the late 90s with improv and rap performances by Load and Boris. Most definitely a cultural study if nothing else. 21+

The Luck of the Irish Pub Crawl
Get a head start what many alcoholics like to call Saint Patrick’s “season.” Why not? At least you won’t have to nurse your hang over in Butler this time. For $20 bucks you can prance around more than 50 dive bars with specials like $1 Bud drafts, $2 Bud bottles, $3 wells and $4 shots of Jameson. The marketing team claims this is the Guinness Book of World Record’s Largest Pub Crawl ever. Perhaps, but it doesn’t really matter. You won’t remember either way. It just might feel like it.
WHEN: Sat, March 13
WHERE: Participating Bars
PRICE: $20-25/ticket
