Flags planted by CUCR

Today is the eleventh anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania. Similar to last year, we direct your attention to some reflections on 9/11.

In 2005, NPR interviewed members of the Barnard Class of 2005, who were freshmen during the attacks.

Last year, the Eye spoke to alums who had been student reporters during the attacks.

Nicholas Spangler was a J-school student covering an election downtown during the attacks; he wrote about his experience for the Columbia Journalism Review in November 2001.

During the attacks, a man trapped on the 84th floor of one of the towers wrote a note and threw it out the window. It reached his family in Stamford, CT ten years later, and is now in the 9/11 museum.
