Is it a door? A wall? A passage to Narnia? We’re not sure, but it certainly makes the morning walk to Art Hum more bearable. Titled “Everything Is Permitted,” the work is a part of a new exhibit from Broadway Mall Association, intended to populate the “backbone of Manhattan” with outdoor contemporary art. Other works can be found on 166th, 157th, 137th, 96th, 79th, 72nd, 64th, and Columbus Circle, and include such telling pieces as “Stray Dog,” “Another Time Machine,” and “Hiroshima Buddha.” The exhibit is open till February—come celebrate the grand opening next Wednesday at 11 at Verdi Square!
