We start here in the homeland. The Supreme Court has lifted a stay on same-sex marriage licenses in Kansas, meaning that, at the very least, the future will bring a number of happy marriages, too long denied. Speaking of life on earth, President Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping have announced a historic deal to cut greenhouse emissions, a sign of both improved U.S. and Chinese relations and of a more sustainable world. (CNN)

On the local level, three city councilors are pushing forward a bill that would make tenants better able to compel landlords to fulfill their contractual and legal obligations, hopefully encouraging better living conditions city wide. (New York Daily News)
