In an incredibly rare occurrence, a lion at Las Vegas’s Lion Habitat Ranch gave birth to five kittens(?) in a row. There are devastatingly few photos of the one-pound future predators, but surely you can imagine the sight. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
Over two thousand sea lion pups have beached in California so far this year, up from 231 last year. The creatures have recently suffered from warming oceans, low food supplies, and disease outbreaks, but researchers believe that many can be rehabilitated and returned to their natural habitat. This guy’s best friend is apparently a 300-pound lion. His confidence that she will never turn on him is almost certainly misplaced. (Express)
A research team at ESPN has concluded that the Detroit Lions are the worst drafters in the NFL, consistently selecting players that underperform for their draft slots. Would love to see the same analysis applied to some other Lions. (Detroit Free Press)
