Tired of the boring red question mark? Bwog has some suggestions.

If you have logged into your email at all in the past few weeks, you know that Housing sends a lot of emails. Maintenance, elevator repair, room selection, and more – these messages all come into your inbox, heralded in with a little red question mark.

We at Bwog think that this is, quite frankly, pretty ugly, so our graphic designers have cooked up six excellent profile pictures we think Housing should definitely use.

1. The question mark might be boring, so we made something a little zanier… a fun question mark!

2. Everyone knows Hartley Hospitality – why not make it the symbol of housing? In fact, everyone knows Hartley Hospitality for three reasons: ID replacement, those rain ponchos they have, and the ungodly amount of SpikeBall they rent out to the lawns.

3. We know housing technically forbids pets without a glass tank, but we’ve all encountered the mainstay Columbia Housing animal – the roach. To make this profile pic a little classier and more work-appropriate, he’s wearing a suit.

4. Maybe the picture should be of a building – and what’s more iconic than EC? We think an EC-themed profile picture would make any fire safety email just a little spicier.

5. But what about the people of Housing – after all, they are very important! Anyone who has been a first-year at Columbia has become intimately familiar with Scott D. Helfrich’s smiling face, so why not incorporate it into Housing as a whole?

6. Finally, there is nobody more iconic than John Jay – the name of a residence hall and two dining halls, he is definitely important to Housing. We decided to honor our favorite founding father with a cute revamped aesthetic, and a housing-themed outfit.
