Happening in the World: Floods caused by rain in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa have damaged 13,500 properties and affected 40,000 people. Rescue operations are underway to find dozens of people who are still missing. With more rain predicted in the coming days, rescuers will likely face difficulties as they search for the missing. Happening in the US: Arizona resident Michael Patrick Turland was arrested after 183 animals were found in his freezer. Turland’s arrest arose after a resident called the police after she left snakes with him and was unable to get them back. (BBC)
