Today was Day 8 of Columbia’s housing lottery, and things are starting to look bleak.

One week in, and here we are! We hope everyone left in the lottery is cozying up to the idea of a corridor-style double, less-than-ideal square footage, or a six-block walk to campus!

What’s Gone

It’s getting hard to look at…

  • All studio singles
  • All 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-person suites
  • All of Hogan, 548, 627, Woodbridge, Plimpton, and River
  • All singles in Nuss, Broadway, Schapiro, Wien and Watt
  • All suites in East Campus
  • 47 Claremont
    • All 2-person suites
    • All 3-person suites
    • All 4-person suites
    • All 5-person suites
    • All 6-person suites
    • All 8-person suites
  • Ruggles
    • All 2-person suites
    • All 3-person suites
    • All 4-person suites
    • All 5-person suites
    • All 6-person suites
    • All 7-person suites

What’s Scarce

  • Only 2 corridor-style doubles remain before East Campus is gone!
  • 9 studio doubles in Watt
  • 7 8-person suites left in Ruggles

What’s Left

  • 9 7-person suites in 47 Claremont
  • 63 corridor-style doubles in Nuss
  • 33 corridor-style doubles in Broadway
  • 29 corridor-style doubles in Carlton
  • 16 singles and 4 doubles (all corridor-style) in Harmony
  • 26 corridor-style doubles in Wien
  • 14 singles and a whopping 178.5 doubles, corridor-style, in McBain
  • 83 corridor-style doubles in Schapiro

Looking Ahead

We’re getting down to crunch time, so bust out the pros and cons lists. Is a spacious single worth the shaft? Does a fitness room balance out a brief commute? Convene with your housing group and start figuring it out!
