On Tuesday, Barnard Dining announced several changes to its dining halls, including a new dining location opening February 13.
A new dining location, the Barnard Dining Bubble Tea and Sushi Spot, is set to replace Peet’s Coffee on the first floor of Milstein Library starting Monday, February 13. Barnard Dining announced this change in its newsletter on January 24. A Barnard spokesperson stated that the location’s hours will be Monday through Friday from 11 am to 11 pm, as well as Sunday from 12 to 8 pm.
While Peet’s Coffee will no longer have a physical location, its products will remain available on campus, as Liz’s Place will incorporate them into its existing menu beginning February 6. After the move, Liz’s Place will become the only coffee-dedicated dining location on Barnard’s campus. In anticipation of greater congestion, the Diana Center Café will begin offering drip coffee and Liz’s Place will increase their staff.
The Barnard Dining Bubble Tea & Sushi Spot will offer a variety of bubble and milk teas, hand-rolled sushi, poke bowls, seaweed salad, and grab & go items. Made-to-order sushi rolls will include salmon, avocado, shrimp tempura, dragon, eel avocado, veggie tempura, cucumber, rainbow, California, spicy tuna, spider, and special rolls.
Fruit tea boba will be available with green or black tea options. Flavors will include passionfruit, mango, orange, and strawberry. Milk tea boba will include options such as bubble, brown sugar, taro, or ube (purple yam) milk tea. Vegan and gluten-free options will be offered, including non-dairy milk.
Pre-packaged food items will include dried seaweed crisps, shrimp crackers, and Oreo Panda Wafer Rolls. Drinks will include Kong ice tea, coconut water, and Enriched Calcium Yogurt Beverages. Ramune soda with lychee, strawberry, blueberry, and melon flavors will also be offered.
Payment will be accepted through points, cash, or credit cards. Throughout the semester, Barnard Dining will introduce rotating limited-time discounts through sushi roll, bubble tea, and combo deals.
Beyond the new dining location, Barnard has also unveiled changes that aim to reduce wait time. Hewitt Dining Hall has introduced a new ordering kiosk for their grill station. Students can sign in at the kiosk using their phone number, place their order, find their seat, and be notified via text when their food is ready. Items will then be available for pick-up at the grill station.
